Skill Development Training on Manufacture of Jute Hand-Bag

A ten (10) working days self-sponsored
training on “Manufacture of Jute hand bag” organized by at ICAR-National
Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, Kolkata completed on January
19, 2024.
In the valedictory
cum certificate distribution programme, Dr. D. B.
Shakyawar, Director has congratulated all the trainee participants for
successful completion of the training programme and stressed upon the needs of innovative
design & patterns for manufacturing of different bags to meet the day today
market requirement. The Director also offers an opportunity to the trainees
that interested participants can come to the institute and learn more about stitching
of jute bags using the institute facilities.
Prof. (Dr) B.K. Behera,
Professor, Department of Textile and Fibre Engineering, IIT Delhi, New Delhi
suggested to use advanced software to get different bag design with different
colour combinations for more attractive and systematic output.
Dr. A. N. Roy,
former head Transfer of Technology division have addressed the trainee
participants regarding the market demand of jute bags in place of plastic bags.
He also aware the participants about the upcoming events like entreneurship
development programme to be organized by the institute.
The programme was
coordinated by Dr. V. B. Shambhu, Principal Scientist. Nine (09) participants
have joined these ten days training.
