Skill Development Training on Small and Cottage Industries Begins at AAU under ICAR - NEH scheme

ten-day training program titled “Development
of Skills for Setting up Small and Cottage Scale Industries Based on Natural Resources
of the North Eastern Region.” Organized
by the Department of Textiles
& Apparel Designing (TAD), College of Community
Science, AAU, in collaboration under the NEH, ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology
(NINFET).

Binita B. Kalita, HOD & Project
PI, inaugurated the event, while Dr. Mamoni Das, Dean, Faculty of Community Science, delivered an inspiring speech
on the significance of skill development and entrepreneurship. Dr. Vidya Bhushan Shambhu, Principal Scientist and Nodal Officer, NEH, ICAR-NINFET, emphasized the program's role in regional
development on fiber extraction and its utilisation for entrepreneurship
development, and Dr. Sunita Boruah, Assistant Professor and PI of the training,
outlined its objectives and structure.
The event
was attended by 50
trainees, dignitaries, heads of the departments, faculty, staff, and students aiming to empower participants to utilize
the region's resources for sustainable enterprise development.
