Skill Development Training on Manufacture of Jute Hand Bag and Jute Handicrafts

A three (03) days skill development training on “Manufacturing
of jute hand bag and jute handicrafts “sponsored by ATMA, Araria,
Bihar was organized at ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and
Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal during November 17-19, 2024.
Dr. D. B. Shakyawar, Director has congratulated all the participants for
successful completion of the training programme. He has highlighted upon the
recent technologies developed by the institute for quality production of jute
fiber and manufacture of diversified value-added products there from. He has
emphasized upon the future collaboration with ATMA, Araria for execution of
various extension activities for the improvement of livelihood of jute grower
in Bihar.
Dr. V. B. Shambhu, Head (Acting) Transfer of Technology Division has briefed
about the various schemes running at the institute for execution of different
transfer of technology activities.
Mr. H.P. Gupta, ATM, ATMA, Araria has appreciated the work done by the
institute and stressed upon the future collaboration of ATMA, Araria with
ICAR-NINFET for betterment of jute growers in terms of technological intervention, support and guidance.
Er. H. Baite, Scientist & Course Coordinator of the training has
highlighted upon the about the different training activities viz; making of jute
handicrafts making and jute bags through hands on training.
On this occasion, a training manual was released by the dignitaries. Twenty-three (23) farmers associated with jute
cultivation and processing and two (02) ATMA officials have participated in
this training.
