NINFET organized FLD on NINFET-JAIVIK at Sonnasidanga (Murshidabad)

ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre
Engineering & Technology organised a field
level demonstration (FLD) programme on NINFET-JAIVIK at Sonnasidanga, Nowda
block, Mursidabad district of West Bengal on 20th August, 2024 under Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan schemes in collaboration with Dhaanyaganga KVK,
Sargachi.
Er. H. Baite, Scientist, TOT Division address
the gathering about the objective of the programme, different similar
activities conducted by NINFET at various places under different schemes. He
emphasized on the liquid based eco-friendly retting technology i.e,
NINFET-JAIVIK for quality fibre extraction from the jute. He briefed how the technology facilitates the
jute retting process by reducing time and improve the fibre quality in the pond
retting.
Sh. Sudipta Gupta, Administrative
Officer briefed about the institute, its mission and mandates, areas of
research and extension work carried out for the benefits of various
stakeholders associated with jute sectors.
Mr. Jayenta Mondal, STA speaks about the
various grading parameters, its importance for evaluation of jute fibre.
The programme was coordinated by Er. H. Baite along
with Mr. Sudipta Gupta & Mr. J. Mondal. Jute bags and leaflets were distributed to ffifty (50) scheduled caste (SC) farmers who have
participated in the FLD programme.
