NFSM sponsored field level demonstration on NINFET-JAIVIK at Bahadurpura (Hooghly)

A field level demonstration (FLD)
programme on jute retting by NINFET-JAIVIK was organized at Bahadurpura under
Hooghly district of West Bengal on 17th August 2024 under National Food Security Mission (NFSM) schemes in collaboration
with Hooghly Vegetable Growers Producer Company Limited, Hooghly.
Er. H. Baite, Scientist, TOT Division briefed about the liquid based
retting accelerator technology i.e., NINFET-JAIVIK, its application method
& dozes, its benefits in terms of quality of fibre, saving of time, enhancement
of jute grade, less water requirement and ecofriendly. He also briefed about
the scope of skill development trainings on jute diversified products with
regard to the growing market demand and environmental sustainability.
Dr. Tilak Mondal, Scientist, QE&I Division briefed the farmers about different
jute grading parameters, grading instruments developed by NINFET for quality
evaluation of jute fibres.
The programme
was coordinated by Er. H. Baite alongwith Mr. A. Tiwari. In this programme, NINFET developed jute bags, NINFET-JAIVIK leaflet (printed
in English and Bengali) were distributed. Fifty (50) farmers associated with
jute from Bahadurpura have participated in the FLD programme.
