ICAR-NINFET organized one day training programme on “Instrumental Jute grading system”

One
day training programme on “Instrumental Jute grading system” under All India
Network Project on Jute and allied Fibres (AINPJAF) was organized by
ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata at Sasya Shyamala Krishi Vigyan Kendra, RKMVERI, Sonarpur
- Chandmari Road, Arapanch, West Bengal.
Dr.
D. B. Shakyawar, Director of ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata, emphasized the significance
of natural fibers, Jute grading systems, and the instruments developed by the
institute during his inaugural address. He also encouraged farmers to adopt
natural fiber-based products as an alternative to plastic bags to combat the
growing issue of plastic pollution.
Dr.
Avijit Das, Principal Investigator of AINPJAF and Head of the QE&I
Division, emphasized the importance of the training program and highlighted the
institute's advancements in enhancing the quality of jute fiber
Dr.
Swagat Ghosh, Head (In-Charge) of Shyamala Krishi Vigyan Kendra, commended the
institute for its development of digital grading instruments for jute in his
welcome address. He also urged farmers to embrace the instrumental method for
jute grading.
The
programme was coordinated by Dr. Avijit Das and Dr. Nageshkumar, T. Total
twenty-five farmers from Bhangar, Dist. - South 24 Parganas the attended the
training programme.
