ICAR-NINFET MGMG Organizes Mini Farmer’s Fair-2024

The National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology (ICAR-NINFET) organized a Mini Farmer’s Fair on December 10, 2024, at Sasya Shyamala KVK, Sonarpur, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Swami Shivapurnanandaji Maharaj, Vice-Chairman, Sasya Shyamala KVK, RKMVERI, attended as the Chief Guest and Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ATARI, Kolkata attended as Guest of Honour. He shared insights on importance of One Health and impacts of climate change on soil health and crop productivity. Dr. D.B. Shakyawar, Director, ICAR-NINFET briefed about the key technologies developed by ICAR-NINFET.

The fair included a jute grading stall where a jute grading machine was demonstrated to farmers, and a value added products stall showcasing various types of jute-based products. SSKVK displayed various advanced technologies like aquaponics. The event featured a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan activity held in the village.

Scientists from ICAR-NINFET provided talks on various technologies, training opportunities, and extension activities. The event was attended by approximately 150 farmers from block Bhangar, Sonarpur, Baruipur etc., along with ICAR-NINFET scientists.
