ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata organized STUDENTS’ CONCLAVE in alignment with NNFF, 2025 on January 4, 2025 

January 4, 2025, Kolkata:

 

ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata celebrated its 87th Foundation Day in alignment with National Natural Fibre Festival (NNFF), 2025 w.e.f. January 2-4, 2025. On January 4, 2025 a STUDENTS’ CONCLAVE was organized by the HRD Cell of ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology (NINFET), Kolkata with full enthusiasm and exhilaration. Altogether 100 students from five different organizations of Kolkata have participated in this programme namely Netaji Nagar Day College, Vivekananda College for Women, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Lions Calcutta Greater Vidya Mandir and Gangapuri Shiksha Sadan for Boys with their respective faculty members.

 

Shri Uttam Kumar, Principal, Ballygung Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kolkata graced the progamme as the Chief Guest. In his deliberation, he boosted up the gathering of students with his motivational speech and he has extended a lot of enthusiasm and energy to the students by his loud and inspirational enunciation.

 

Prof. Vinita Kalita, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat graced the session as the Guest of Honour and hailed with note-worthy phrases about the different type of natural fibres for the processing, value addition and biomass utilization and the role of natural fibres to the economy of greater world.

 

Mr. T.K.Poddar, Head Master, Gangapuri Shiksha Sadan for Boys, Kolkata, the another Guest of Honour appreciated ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata for such initiative to conduct this kind of student programme and express his gratitude for dissemination of knowledge amongst the students which always remain helpful for their curriculum and future studies.

 

Earlier, in his address, Dr D. B. Shakyawar, Director ICAR-NINFET, emphasized the achievements of ICAR-NINFET and its pivotal role and immense contribution towards the diversified use and industrial growth of natural fibres. He elaborated that there may be plenty of scope for the students to pursue agriculture as their future carrier and how to contribute in the field of research of Natural Fibre for the development of the Nation.

 

Dr. D.P. Ray, Head, C&BP Division & Nodal Officer HRD Cell briefed the overview of the programme and accentuated the responses received from the students and their faculty members to participate in this programme and the journey of ICAR-NINFET from its inception to todays’ pioneer Institute.

Dr. Nilimesh Mridha, Scientist & Co-Nodal Officer HRD Cell has coordinated the entire programme. 

A sensational Quiz Programme also conduct by Dr. Koushik Manna, Sr. Technical Officer, ICAR-NINFET along with distribution of prizes. 

The programme has been concluded with a Vote of thanks by Ms. Jayeeta Choudhury, Assistant, HRD Cell.
