February 26, 2024, Kolkata:

A 10-days National Level Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on Natural fibre & its biomass-based value-added products was inaugurated here today.

Dr. K.K. Satapathy, Ex-Director, ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata has graced the occasion as Chief Guest and spoken about the importance of natural fibres for development of sustainable enterprises. He has also emphasized upon the use of locally available natural fibres particularly that of the North-Eastern region.

Dr. Laxmikanta Nayak, Director (Officiating) has addressed the participants and spoken about the demand of natural fibre based diversified products both in National & International market.

Dr. A. N. Roy, Principal Investigator, ABI Project and Coordinator of this programme has elaborated upon the programme schedule.

Twenty-three (23) participants associated with natural fibre processing & crafts work representing various states of India have participated in this programme.

The programme is sponsored by IP & TM, ICAR.
