ATMA Sponsored training organized at ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata

A five (05) days skill development training on Production and Value addition of jute & Manufacturing of jute handicrafts sponsored by ATMA, Supaul, Bihar was inaugurated here today.


Dr. D. B. Shakyawar, Director has highlighted the various aspect and opportunity of jute fibres and briefed upon the recent technologies developed by the institute for quality production of jute fiber and manufacture of diversified value-added products there from. He also emphasized upon the future collaboration with ATMA, Supaul, Bihar for execution of various extension activities, setting up of common facility centre (CFC) for the livelihood improvement of jute grower in Bihar.



Dr. L.K. Nayak, Head, Transfer of Technology Division briefed about transfer of technology activities of the institute organized under various schemes.

Mr. Chandra Alok Kumar, Deputy Project Director, ATMA, Supaul, Bihar stressed upon the future collaboration of ATMA with ICAR-NINFET for betterment of jute growers of Bihar, Supaul in terms of technological intervention, support and guidance.


The programme was coordinated by Er. H. Baite, Scientist & Coordinator of the event. Seventeen (17) farmers associated with jute cultivation and processing and two (02) ATMA officials have participated in this training.
